Charlotte OC’s boldest work yet finds light in the chaos.
After the powerful return of “God, We Tried” and the mesmerising “Romeo” earlier this year, Charlotte OC continues her artistic rebirth with the release of her new EP Seriously Love, Go Home and its passionate new single “Cider and Black.” This latest chapter sees the artist push further into raw vulnerability, pairing gut-punch honesty with bold, cathartic songwriting.

Seriously Love, Go Home is more than just a collection of songs, it’s a clear turning point. A sonic letting go. A necessary closing of a chapter weighed down by heartbreak, grief and chaos. But rather than wallow in those themes, Charlotte crafts a body of work that feels like healing in motion. She offers listeners a place to sit with their own heartbreak and loss, but also invites them into her movement forward.
Speaking on the EP, she shared: “I’m letting go of a lot in this EP. These songs feel like a bridge to the next phase of my musical life, and I’m so grateful for that. I worked with some of the most genuine and lovely people on this project, and I’m just really happy it’s out in the world now. It’s given me a sense of momentum again, and made me genuinely excited about all of this. I really hope this EP can reach anyone who’s going through it, whether you’re feeling heartbreak, falling in love for the first time, or learning how to carry loss. I hope it keeps you company.”
Focus track “Cider and Black” is a standout. A rebellious, messy, and beautifully self-aware anthem that captures the adrenaline of spiralling and the emptiness that follows. Built on visceral lyrics and emotionally charged vocals, the track reveals a character clinging to chaos as identity, both enjoying and suffering from the fallout.
“Cider and Black was my self-destruct anthem,” Charlotte adds. “It’s about doubling down on your chaos and wearing it like a badge of honour. That phase where you’re basically a functioning warning sign and kind of enjoying it. But underneath it all, it’s a mess. You’re hurting, and you’re hurting people along the way.”
