Klaverson returns with transformative second EP ‘Above Ground’.
Singer, songwriter, producer and visual artist Klaverson unveils his second EP Above Ground - out now via Beyond Records. A powerful follow-up to his breakout debut Reflections, the new seven-track project sees the UK artist step into a deeper, more expansive creative chapter. With over 15 million streams to date and support from Spotify, Apple Music, BBC Radio 1, 6Music, FIP, HUNGER and more, Klaverson has already proven his ability to connect across genre and medium. Above Ground takes that connection further.
At its heart, the EP is a soul-stirring reflection on personal growth, navigating transformation, emotional resilience and the power of rising through challenge. “This EP is about those breakthrough moments - where you find strength to rise again or help someone else do the same,” says Klaverson. “I wanted the music to feel like a new horizon - hopeful, real and deeply human.”
From its sweeping opener Better Man to the cinematic closer First Time, Above Ground unfolds like a journey - intimate yet widescreen. Standout track Rising, with its propulsive energy and anthemic chorus, has already caught the attention of BBC Radio 1, receiving multiple spins and earning a spot on Sian Eleri’s Chillest Show. It sets the tone for an EP that’s rhythmically rich, emotionally raw and stylistically fluid.
Each track brings something distinct. Higher Now offers lush instrumentation and introspective lyrics, a sonic embodiment of elevation and clarity. There For Me is a soul-infused ballad of gratitude, while Bet On You delivers a confident, groove-driven call to self-belief. The brief instrumental Shinjuku acts as a reflective interlude, shimmering with ambient textures that capture stillness within the chaos, much like the Tokyo district it references.
This project isn’t just a collection of songs - it’s a full visual and emotional experience. Entirely self-supervised, Klaverson approached Above Ground holistically. The campaign has remained fiercely independent - with music videos, social content, and even the vinyl design led by Klaverson himself. The result is a release that feels both deeply personal and artistically complete.
The rollout reflects this same care. Three singles laid the foundation ahead of the EP, each paired with bespoke visuals and a soft-focus campaign introducing Klaverson’s values and vision to a growing audience. An official EP trailer dropped in February 2025, giving fans their first full glimpse into the visual world of the record - setting the stage for a thoughtful and immersive listening experience.
On June 26, Abbie McCarthy’s BBC Introducing show will host an exclusive Above Ground listening party - marking one of several key moments for the release. In September, Klaverson will make his festival debut at Zamna Madrid, a milestone that signals his evolving presence on the international stage.
The journey doesn’t stop at digital. Due to popular demand, Klaverson will release a limited edition vinyl version of Above Ground.
Blending ambient electronica, soul, and cinematic storytelling, Above Ground is Klaverson’s most emotionally ambitious work yet. Drawing on influences like Maribou State, Bonobo, James Blake and Four Tet, he creates sonic worlds that feel introspective, expansive and human.
