Dear Lily is in love and vulnerable in her new single, ‘Fragile’.

After success on her last single, ‘Eternal’, which has had nearly 50,000 streams on Spotify and has featured on the platform’s ‘Fresh Finds UK’ playlist, Dear Lily is gaining momentum, having released her third single, ‘Fragile’, on September the 4th.

‘Fragile’ is an alternative pop track about falling in love and experiencing all of the beautiful and ugly feelings that inevitably come with it. Written in her bedroom, the track is unfiltered and honest, following her own experiences with showing vulnerability in her relationship, and ultimately giving a voice to the delicate people who find feeling exposed hard – ‘If the car breaks down, will I stay calm?’

With a range of musical influences, Dear Lily merges musical aspects from her favourite artists, creating her own ethereal soundscape. Her vocals are beautifully melancholic and delicate, echoing Lana Del Rey, and accompanied by jangly and atmospheric guitar riffs, reminiscent of Sam Fender’s signature sound.

A sense of nostalgia seeps through this track, especially in the spoken word section towards the end of the song which is written like a poetic diary entry and spoken with the coolness and suavity of Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell – ‘Witness me at best / Love me at my worst / And when I’m living in my own head / Help me out of the curse.’
